Sarah & Jack’s Country Chic Wedding at Broadoaks

Aug 19, 2018 | Wedding Spotlights

A Gentleman’s Proposal…

On 6th June, it was Sarah and Jack’s turn to tie the knot, and this is their story in all its beautiful, sunny glory.

It was the night of Sarah’s 30th Birthday. Having just found out he was going to be a father, Jack knew tonight was to be the changing point in his life; he knew tonight was the night he was going to ask Sarah to be his wife.

Having whisked her away to a gorgeous townhouse, he set the scene that sealed his fate…

Sarah, blown away by the beauty of their homestay, walked through to the terrace whereby a bubbling hot tub was lit up by the glow of many little candles to the soundtrack of ‘Wings’ by Birdy.

In an act of gentlemanly tradition, Jack got down on one knee and blew Sarah away with a ring she couldn’t believe he’d chosen for her.

It was official; they were to be wed.

A Touch Of Class Was A Must…

The romance of the couple carried throughout all the planning and seeped into their theme, which they knew they wanted to be rustic with an English vintage flare, and for Sarah, the ethereal exquisiteness of dusty pinks and gold was paramount to show her elegant femininity in all its beauty.

For Sarah, this could only be achieved by realising her dream of an outdoor ceremony.

A touch of class where both their families could indulge in the glory of the English countryside was also an absolute must…

…So, when it came to deciding the venue, nothing short of perfect would do.

A Dream Come True In The Beauty Of Broadoaks

Regular visitors & all-time lovers of the Lake District’s inherently rustic charm and breath-taking scenery, their hearts were well and truly set on having their special day here.

After searching many venues, they finally found Broadoaks offered everything they wanted to bring their vision of a country chic, rustic Lake District wedding to life. With its outdoor ceremony space, close proximity to Lake Windermere, and the opportunity to exclusively use the whole house and its stunning landscaped gardens, they couldn’t believe heir luck.

They knew instantly that life-long memories would be made here. To Sarah and Jack, they’d fallen in love again…this time, with Broadoaks.

To be extra sure of their choice, an overnight stay in Broadoaks only got the pair even more excited for their big day, so they chose to stay at their venue on two separate occasions before the wedding, an experience they felt added to the feel of being at home in their venue; a place they could truly call theirs.

The Big Day Finally Arrived

It was, quite simply, the most glorious day; the sun was beaming and the exquisite beauty of nature framed Sarah and Jack’s picturesque wedding venue perfectly.

Sarah was overjoyed: Her dream of an outdoor ceremony was soon to become reality.

After taking in all the elation of getting ready in The Retreat, where tears and champagne flowed in a whimsical stream of excitement and emotions, the children were free to play and delight in the stunning gardens under the heat of the Lake District sun, whilst the guests arrived with open jaws and a sense of heart-warming anticipation before taking their seats on the perfectly manicured, perfectly decorated lawn.

Here Comes The Bride

Jack, looking handsome and confident, waited patiently for his bride. Then, upon hearing the opening bars of ‘Wings’ by Birdy, he turned around to see the most magnificent image of his soulmate, his Sarah, his bride.

Holding a fine bouquet of seasonal flowers by Fleurtation Florist, Sarah joined Jack at the arbor and it was there where they said their vows.

Every precious moment was perfectly captured by their talented photographer, David Goodier Photography, and it’s true what they say, their photographs speak more than a thousand words. Adding to the ambiance was an acoustic sound of bliss from the talented Jade Gallagher as she played their guests through the ceremony, and out into what was to be the finest of receptions…

A Sunshine Reception

A natural, rustic and floral feast for the eyes awaited the guests as they walked into the reception room, which was adorned in dusty pink and gold details, expertly designed by the venue dressers, Wilde and Romantic.

The three-course was the crème de la crème of the afternoon, after which guests lounged blissfully in the sunshine whilst taking in the splendour of Lake Windermere’s glistening waters.

It was, to quote Wordsworth, “The loveliest spot that man hath found’.

As the energetic sounds of The Folklore provided the soundtrack to Sarah and Jack’s enthusiastic dancing, the guests continued to enjoy all areas of Broadoaks finding peaceful spots for a quiet dram of whiskey, or a picture-perfect clink of champagne flutes.

And so it was, Sarah and Jack had what they could only describe as “the fairytale wedding”

On behalf of all the family at Broadoaks, we wish Sarah and Jack a lifetime of happiness and the warmest of ‘thank yous’ for choosing us for their special day; they were, quite simply, a truly stunning couple.
