General
Can we bring pets?
We love couples bringing their dogs along to their wedding! Your furry friend can be there for your ceremony, drinks reception, and most importantly photographs, however they will need to retire to a pet-friendly room before your wedding breakfast.
Is the venue air-conditioned?
We are a traditional country house, so unfortunately no we have not been able to provide air-conditioning but our bedroom windows open to provide plenty of Lake District fresh air.
Are patio heaters provided free of charge?
Can a helicopter land at the venue?
Yes, subject to prior arrangements and insurance checks.
Do you provide all catering & bar services?
Yes! We are proud to have our own in-house catering and bar teams. As part of your wedding booking, you will be invited to attend a complimentary tasting event to sample our delicious menu choices.
Wedding Reception
Is there room for a band or DJ and dancing?
Yes. There is space in our Garden Room for up to 150 guests, and there’s space for the entertainment too!
Do you have a sound limiter?
We don’t have a limiter so feel free to have your band or DJ blast out the tunes!
Do you have any audio-visual facilities we could use for the speeches?
We do. There’s a screen and a projector at your disposal.
Do you have a microphone?
Yes, there is a microphone for speeches available.
Do you have a PA system?
Yes, we have a system to play background music during the ceremony and wedding breakfast. It’s not suitable for your evening entertainment though.
Entertainment
Can we have sparklers?
Yes, you can use sparklers outside of the venue.
Can we have a fire pit or fireworks?
Unfortunately we cannot allow fire pits or fireworks for insurance reasons.
What about a confetti cannon?
Are smoke machines permitted?
Timings
What time can we access the venue on the day?
Brides-to-be can access our Bridal Prep Lounge from 9am and Grooms-to-be can arrive from 12 noon. Suppliers can set up from 11am, and earlier access may be arranged in advance, subject to availability.
What time does the bar close / music finish?
The bar closes, and all music must cease, at midnight. An optional paid upgrade to a late 1am finish can be arranged. Please ask us.
Accommodation
What time is checkout the day after the wedding?
All couples and guests must depart the venue absolutely by 10am latest please. We often have another wedding party arriving and so of course we need time to clean and set up for that day’s wedding.
Can we stay the night before the wedding / hire the venue for the whole weekend?
Yes, but this is subject to an upgrade charge and subject to availability. Speak to our wedding team to find out more.
Can our guests camp in the grounds of Broadoaks?
No, but we have ample accommodation inside and can recommend some brilliant hotels and B&Bs nearby for extra guests.
