What to Expect from your Wedding Co-ordinator

Sep 8, 2017 | Broadoaks News

Here at Broadoaks, we’ve been helping couples plan their special day for many years. You may think we’ve seen it all but no wedding is ever the same, and each one holds a special place in our hearts.

For some, planning a wedding can fill a couple with joy, others with dread. We know there are couples that find planning a wedding stressful and those that relish at the chance, but in the end, you all want the same thing, a wedding day that’s perfect for both of you.

You’ll find that most hotels that are also wedding venues have a dedicated team responsible for weddings, often referred to as wedding coordinators. In this blog we’ve shared what you should expect from a wedding coordinator.

Questions…

It’s our job as wedding coordinators to ask questions at the start to help us understand your personalities and the type of wedding you’d like. We’ve had many couples that come for a wedding tour saying have no idea what they want but by the end of the tour they are much clearer with what they’d like.

There will be ongoing questions we’ll ask you as well, but we can also help with any questions your struggling to answer, which leads us nicely on.

Advice…

We’ve worked with many couples over the years and we can draw on our experience to help you with almost anything. We can also recommend wedding suppliers if you’re not sure who to use. Struggling with your budget? We can advise on ways we can help you to manage it.

As an exclusive hire wedding venue, if you choose the 48 hour package, we can also help arrange some wonderful activities for your group before the wedding day. This can include spa treatments at a nearby hotel, a clay pigeon shoot onsite and much more.

Organisation…

Your wedding coordinator will be organised and will get in touch with you at specific times leading up to the day to help you go through timings, food choices, room layout and more. On the day itself, your wedding coordinator will ensure everything is in hand so you can enjoy your special day. You may not have much contact with them on the day but rest assured they are working hard behind the scenes.

“From the first moment we met with Jo she organised everything, and the hotel staff throughout the day made sure everything was as we had planned. Darren was on hand throughout the entire day and evening to make sure everything ran smoothly and we all had an unbelievably brilliant day. Thank you all so much for making our day so special.”

Just as they say communication is important in marriage, it’s just as important when planning a wedding. That question you think is daft? It’s likely we’ve heard it before so please ask. Our events team includes Vicky, Vicky (yes there are two of us) and Little Jo. We can all help you with the planning and you’ll know which one of us will be there on your special day, 4 weeks before.
