Licensed Areas at Broadoaks
In England, each area where weddings are held must have its own license and for this reason only designated ‘Wedding’ locations can be used to hold the ceremony.
All ceremonies at Broadoaks would be performed by a registrar and this style of ceremony is often referred to as a civil ceremony. Like religious ceremonies weddings performed in this way are very special however the main difference is that these ceremonies do not and cannot involve any religious elements. If a religious ceremony is important to you then please refer to the local churches section below.
Here at Broadoaks we have the following areas available for your ceremony:
1. The Music Room (max capacity 60)
2. The Dining Room (max capacity 60)
3. Outside Lawn (max capacity 100)
4. Outdoor Pagoda with views to the Langdale pikes (max capacity (10)
5. Marquee Site (max capacity 120)
Notes:
All areas can be set up in a traditional manner with lines of banqueting chairs or we can take a more informal approach with our garden chairs or indoor sofas.
Whilst a preference for an outdoor wedding can be made, we will always have an indoor location available on the day just in case the weather is not as good as hoped. Our open log fires look and smell great on those colder days.
Don’t forget to check availability by contacting the registrar before confirming your wedding dates:

Local Churches
For religious ceremonies there are several local churches where your ceremony could be arranged. Whilst you would still need to contact the local registrar to arrange the paperwork for your wedding, you would also need to speak to the church direct to arrange the wedding service for the day.
Couples wishing to hold their wedding at one of the local churches are likely to require transport from the hotel to the church. We have a range of useful contacts for this which can be found under the ‘plan your wedding’ section of the website.
We have included some specific details on each of the local churches below:
