Jan 16 - Thank you letter from the House of Commons
Without some extremely kind and generous people we would not be taking a huge amount of pride and pleasure in sharing a copy of this letter we received from The House Of Commons. A sincere thank you to all who have donated money to our flood fund. We all managed to raise a total of £1772.00. How very splendidly Britishly fantastic is that.

What the Press say about Broadoaks...
Indulge Yourself
Start 2012 as you mean to go on with a relaxing break at a luxury spa hotel.
This magnificent Victorian country house hotel and restaurant combines tasteful period styling with boutique luxury.
A feast of the Lake District
Asked which part of Britain has the best food and drink, most of us would be hardpressed to give a straight answer. But without hesitation I can state my current favourite is Cumbria - and more precisely the beautiful Lake District.
Isn't it romantic?
I live my life at 100mph. I work hard - my colleagues may say otherwise - and I play hard. My playground, however, is not the pubs and clubs of Barrow - though I can be spotted there on occasions - but rather the mountains of the Lake District.
Pride of the Lake District
When posh people held proper country house weekend parties like the ones you see in Pride And Prejudice-style bodice-ripper telly dramas, the music room is usually a simmering pot of restrained passion and salacious gossip.
It’s much the same at Broadoaks Country House now that it’s a hotel.
Ambling Back
Jenny Needham and her husband make a return visit to hotel where they spent their honeymoon – and find it much more relaxing this time round.
Broadoaks Boutique Country House
While I like going on holiday I also like coming back to my cosy home full of warm familiarities and relaxed informalities.Staying at a luxury country house hotel doesn't usually offer the latter, but my stay at Broadoaks in the Lake District near Windermere, was just like coming home.
BEFORE setting off for a relaxing break in the Lake District, I was impressed to note that our first port of call, the Broadoaks Country House Hotel in Troutbeck, offered to mark out a helicopter landing spot for guests opting to arrive by that mode of transport.
CUMBRIA – it’s closer than you think. This is something I discovered when I took the opportunity to go on a short break to the Lake District.
